The location of the hotel is simply perfect like everyone has said before. Is about 5-10min walk from the Atocha train station and is around the traingle of museums having the Reina Museum at 3min, the Prado at 10-12 and the Thyssen as well. 2 reviews of Hostal Buelta I booked this place, because of the location, the price, and it had some good reviews. ![]() There are lots of cafés and restaurants of all types from mcdonalds, KFC, TGB, VIPs and many more. The breakfast was quite expensive for what it was. They also have to remember that not everyome is from the same continent and some rules may not be the same for example: I had an issue when I ordered a taxi very early on the morning. The taxi never arrived so we had to take one on our own. When we were doing the check-out is when we get informed that the hotel pays beforehand for an exclusive-type taxi, while we didnt asked for that type of taxis and really when have I ever payed beforehand for a taxi? So make sure to know this before ordering a taxi and that way you won't be troubled with those differences. The room are comfortable enough, and I stayed in one with a view and I was very happy with it. The hotel is very up to date and clean and the beds are simply amazing and very comfortable. Mind you, they do not have a dresser so you will have to leave everything on your luggages and/or bags. In general even though we had the taxi issue, I plan to stay here next time as it is simply a perfect location hotel and a very clean, comfortable and nice one. I also brough a couple of friends that stayed the same time period (8 days) and they also loved it. ![]() The simple fact of the matter is Wilko Johnson isn’t supposed to be with us at this point – let alone playing slam-banging, foot-stomping rock ‘n’ roll with a new album that debuted at the number three spot on the U.K. album charts.īut the 66-year-old Johnson has never done things quite like anyone else.įrom the first moment Johnson caught the public’s eye back in the early 70s with the British pub rockers Dr. Feelgood, his image has been as unique as his guitar playing. Mad-eyed and unblinking, lurching/darting/back-and-forthing about the stage, Johnson introduced the world to his own brand of rhythm/lead guitar. Bare-handed and wielding his picking arm like a crazed lumberjack, Johnson proved that one man and a black Telecaster could construct a wall of roaring chords, somehow firing off wailing leads in the midst of it like a sniper atop his perch. ![]() You could attempt to look his style up, but there’s no point – Wilko wrote the book.įast-forward to January of 2013: diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer, Johnson was told he would be dead by October – with the possibility of extending things a bit if he wanted to undergo chemotherapy. Johnson says the decision was an easy one: he declined any treatments, strapped on his Telecaster, and started playing as much rock ‘n’ roll as he had time for.īesides live shows (“We did our ‘farewell tour’,” says Wilko with a laugh “Now we just do tours.”), Johnson made the time to record a studio album. Going Back Home finds the guitarist joined by longtime wingmen Norman Watt-Roy (bass) and Dylan Howe (drums), along with veteran keyboardist Mick Talbot and blues harpman Steve Weston. And on vocals? Well, that would be another old-schooler: Roger Daltrey, whom you may know from his years with another band of ruffians, The Who.ġ0 of the 11 songs on Going Back Home are fresh takes on Wilko-penned classics. ![]()
